I wrote my book, “Drunk In The Spirit”, to discuss my experiences with the Holy Spirit and to Biblically justify these types of encounters.  The first time I experienced intoxication from God, I was worshipping him.  However, I was not aware of such types of experiences or looking for it.  I had not been coached or led in that direction, and I was simply ignorant of that possibility.

What does the Bible say about drinking alcohol?

“Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18).  The devil wants us to settle for a counterfeit of God’s presence and satisfaction.

What does the Bible say about being Slain In The Spirit?

When God manifests his presence, it’s common to be overwhelmed in some way whether laughing, crying, falling over, or otherwise.  Here’s an example in the scripture:

John 18: 5“Jesus of Nazareth,” they answered. Jesus said, “I am He.” And Judas His betrayer was standing there with them. 6 When Jesus said, “I am He,” they drew back and fell to the ground.

What does the Bible say about being Holy Laughter?

Romans 14:17: “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”  The kingdom includes Joy and does not exclude it.  Psalm 16:11 “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”  Finally, Joy is a foundational pillar of who God is.
